For this project, the brief was to design both the front and back labels for Billy’s Brew’s new IPA range, “Summer Fling,” capturing the essence of Noosa while visually expressing the idea of a carefree summer romance.

My process began with brainstorming the imagery and feelings associated with both Noosa and summer flings. I imagined a relaxed beachside love shack, a place filled with warmth, spontaneity, and the fleeting magic of summer. From this, I developed a coastal-inspired colour palette featuring sun-washed tones and ocean hues.

To express the carefree nature of the concept, I incorporated details that hint at two people sharing this moment without directly showing them: two surfboards propped against the shack, a nod to Noosa’s surf culture and a combi van, representing the spirit of adventure and the transient nature of a summertime romance. The beach setting ties the narrative together, reflecting an iconic Australian tradition, enjoying a beer by the ocean. Subtle florals were added to enhance the playful, lighthearted atmosphere while keeping the design people-free.

The final label blends storytelling, place, and lifestyle, resulting in packaging that feels vibrant, nostalgic and unmistakably Noosa.
