UNFOLD SERIES- BILLBOARD CAMPAIGN
VISUAL DESIGN- COURSEWORK
This project involved designing two large-scale advertising billboards to promote the Unfold exhibition in major capital cities. I selected Tokyo and Marrakesh as my focus locations, creating digital illustrations that celebrated each city’s cultural identity while hinting at the exhibition’s core themes.
For Tokyo, I illustrated an iconic Japanese vending machine paired with a curious cat peeking from above, symbolising both the city’s playful personality and the intrigue intended to draw viewers into the exhibition.
For Marrakesh, I captured the city’s warm sunsets and the ritual of sharing tea with friends, reflecting the exhibition’s message of connection and community.
A key success of this project is the typographic integration. The exhibition title and supporting type were designed to sit harmoniously across both artworks, tying the two locations together visually while maintaining the individuality of each illustration. The final billboards create a cohesive yet culturally rich campaign that embodies curiosity, warmth, and storytelling.
